McDonough County Board Finance/Insurance Committee met Aug. 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Finance Committee budget meeting was held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee Members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Eric Chapman, Joe Erlandson, Ken Durkin. Members absent were Craig Foster, Mike Cox, Larry Aurelio. Others in attendance were Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, County Chair Eric Blakeley, Ryan Litchfield, Deputy Clerk Kyah Beck, and County Clerk Jeremy Benson. 

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

New Business

Ian Fischer – Circuit Clerk

Ian Fischer submitted his budget request; a discussion was held and questions were answered. Ian informed the meeting members of a grant he will receive next year.

Edgar Rodriguez -- ESDA

Edgar Rodriguez submitted his budget request; a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Heidi Benson – Circuit Judge

Heidi Benson submitted her budget request; a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Scott Terry – Public Defender

Scott Terry submitted his budget request; a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Matt Kwacala – States Attorney

Matt Kwacala submitted his budget request; a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Adjourn

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Erlandson to adjourn the meeting at 4:33 p.m.

Motion carried on a voice vote.
