The Pittsfield Public Library will hold its annual “April Food For Fines” event, allowing patrons the chance to clear overdue fines by donating non-perishable food items.

The food will be collected and used by local food pantries.

From April 1 to April 30, each unexpired, in-good-condition, non-perishable food item brought in will result in a $1 subtraction from overdue fine totals.

The program does not apply to those who owe the library for lost or damaged

The library is located at 205 N. Memorial Street.
