The Jersey Community Unit School District 100 Board of Education met May 9 to accept the resignation of high school P.E. teacher Dave Jacobs.
The Board of Education and personnel of Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100, in partnership with our students, parents and community, will provide students the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential through an educational climate that fosters accountability, fiscal responsibility, and excellence, while enhancing personal character.

The special meeting of the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 100 was
held Monday, May 9, 2016 in the office of the Board of Education for the purpose of employee
discipline. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Ed Test, President. Other members
present were: Sherry Droste, Vice President; Stan Kary, Secretary; Peggy Perdun, Julie Pohlman,
and William Yamnitz. Board member Terrie Kallal was absent. Also present were Dr. Lori
Franke-Hopkins, Superintendent; Alan Churchman, District Administrator; Mary Schell,
Principal; Debbie Trochuck, Unit Secretary; Scott Cousins, the Telegraph; Rick Whyers, Tim
VanHoveln, Beth Rulo and others.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
None
A motion was made by Droste, seconded by Kary to move to closed session for the purpose of
appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific
employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body. On roll call, Droste, yes; Kary,
yes; Perdun, yes; Pohlman, yes; Test, yes; Yamnitz, yes. Motion carried.
The Board moved to closed session at 6:01 P.M.
The Board returned from closed session at 6:52 P.M.
A motion was made by Kary, seconded by Pohlman to reconvene open session. An aye or nay
vote was taken with all in favor, none opposed. Motion carried.
ACTION AS A RESULT OF CLOSED SESSION
A motion was made by Pohlman, seconded by Kary to accept the resignation of Dave Jacobs as
presented as high school P.E. teacher and head coach. On roll call, Kary, yes; Perdun, yes;
Pohlman, yes; Test, yes; Yamnitz, yes, Droste, yes. Motion carried.
A motion to adjourn was made by Pohlman, seconded by Droste. An aye or nay vote was taken
with all in favor, none opposed. Motion carried.
The special board meeting of May 9, 2016 was adjourned at 6:54 P.M.
