Memorial Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Department has received a three-year accreditation in mammography from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The accreditation is regarded as the gold standard in medical imaging and is awarded only to facilities that meet strict requirements after a peer-review process by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists. The evaluation covers image quality, staff qualifications, equipment performance, and quality control procedures.

Jill Schlatter, Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Memorial Hospital, stated, “This accreditation reflects the dedication and expertise of our imaging team. We are deeply committed to providing patients with exceptional care and ensuring that our technology and practices meet the highest levels of excellence. Most importantly, we want our patients to feel confident and supported when they come in for their screenings.”

The hospital is using Breast Cancer Awareness Month to encourage eligible individuals to schedule annual mammograms. Patients who undergo a mammogram during October will receive a complimentary Breast Cancer Awareness Month–themed gift as part of the awareness campaign.

“Early detection saves lives,” Schlatter added. “Getting screened is an act of self-care and empowerment. We invite our community to take that step for themselves and for the ones they love.” More information about diagnostic imaging services at Memorial Hospital can be found at https://www.mhtlc.org/services/diagnostic-imaging/.
