Board of Commissioners of Cook County authorizes contract for moving services

Board of Commissioners of Cook County met Wednesday, Dec. 14 to vote on a contract for moving services to consolidate its storage facilities.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners consists of 17 elected officials who each serve four-year terms.

A motion was made by Commissioner García, seconded by Commissioner Sims, to appoint Commissioner Silvestri as acting chair. The motion carried by the following vote:

Ayes: Acting Chairman Silvestri, Commissioners García, Morrison, Schneider and Sims (5)

Absent: Vice Chairman Butler, Commissioners Steele and Tobolski (3)

Summary: The Clerk of the Circuit Court is requesting authorization for the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into and execute a contract with Big “O” Movers to complete the final stages of consolidating its storage facilities into the Cicero Records Storage and Digital Imaging Center (“Cicero Records Center”). The final stage of the consolidation includes the relocation of all holdings from the 2323 S. Rockwell Records Center Warehouse to the Cicero Records Center. Big “O” Movers was the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.

A motion was made by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Schneider, to recommend for approval as amended 16-5112. The motion carried by the following vote:

Ayes: Acting Chairman Silvestri, Commissioners García, Morrison, Schneider and Sims (5)

Absent: Vice Chairman Butler, Commissioners Steele and Tobolski (3)

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Morrison, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried by the following vote:
