McDonough County Finance Committee amends office improvement budget

The McDonough County Finance Committee met Feb. 8 to amend the office improvement budget.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the committee:

McDonough County Finance Committee

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Committee members present were Chairman Alice Henry, Larry Aurelio, George Dixon, Travis Hiel, Clarke Kelso, Trevor Toland and County Board Chairman Scott Schwerer. Other persons in attendance were Patrick Stout and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes. Beth Jameson was present as recording secretary.

Chairman Henry called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Review & Approval of January 11, 2017 Minutes Member Aurelio moved with second by Member Dixon to approve the minutes of January 11, 2017 as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Insurance Update Beth Jameson County Board Office Administrator reported she is looking into an error and overpayment to Symetra last fiscal year.

Resolution to Amend FY 2017 Liability Insurance Fund Budget This is for the IPRF Safety Grant for $ 22,777.00 that we will receive this year. Member Aurelio moved with second by Member Hiel to pass to the full Board the Resolution to Amend FY 2017 Liability Insurance Fund-Safety Grant Budget. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Resolution to Amend FY 2017 General County Fund-Office Improvements Budget Chairman Henry stated this was to cover the costs of the State’s Attorney office remodel. New shades for the Assessor’s office have also been purchased. Member Aurelio moved with second by Member Kelso to pass to the full Board Resolution to Amend FY 2017 General County Fund-Office Improvements Budget. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Clerk DeJaynes told the committee that she and Circuit Clerk Wilson are paying to paint the basement and 1st floor halls. The Sherriff’s Inmate Work Program workers are doing the basement painting and Gretchen & Kim have purchased the paint. In a couple of weeks Lonnie Gilbert will paint the first floor. The cost for that will be about $ 10,000.00 and the County Clerk & Circuit Clerk will pay for that with office automation funds.

MCPT Report Review & Approval The monthly request for January 2017 from McDonough County Public Transportation was reviewed. Member Kelso moved with second by Member Aurelio to approve the January 2017 MCPT report in the amount of $ 2,061.00. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval The monthly report for January 2017 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals in Bushnell was reviewed. Member Dixon moved with second by Member Kelso to approve the January 2017 YMCA report in the amount of $ 652.99. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Coroner Report The monthly report for January 2017 from Coroner Jameson was reviewed.

Monthly Financial Reports The monthly financial reports were reviewed.

Transfer of Funds No transfers.

Transfer to Insurance Clearing Member Kelso moved with second by Member Dixon to move $ 200,000.00 from Insurance Clearing to Mutual Medical to pay claims when necessary. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims Member Aurelio moved with second by Member Toland to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Warrants Issued in Vacation Member Kelso moved with second by Member Hiel to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Member Aurelio moved with a second by Hiel that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 6:18 p.m.
