1.0 Call to Order
The board meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Vice President Michele Snyder.
2.0 Roll Call
Present: Mr. Cox, Mrs. Poe, Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. Stevenson. Absent: Mrs. Little, Mr. Schmitz, Mr. Siegfried. Also Present: Mr. Young, Mrs. Miller.
3.0 Pledge of Allegiance

4.0 Approval of Minutes
4. 01 Approve Regular Meeting Minutes for December 2016 Mrs. Stevenson made the motion to approve the regular meeting minutes for December 2016 with a second by Mrs. Poe. Ayes-5, Nays-0. Absent: Mrs. Little, Mr. Siegfried. Motion carried.
5.0 Financials
5. 01 Pay Bills for December 2016 Mr. Cox made the motion to approve the bills for December 2016 with a second by Mrs. Poe. Mr. Cox-Yes, Mrs. Poe-Yes, Mr. Schmitz-Yes, Mrs. Snyder-Yes, Mrs. Stevenson-Yes. Absent: Mrs. Little, Mr. Siegfried. Motion carried.
5. 02 Approve Financial and Treasurer Report for December 2016 Mr. Cox made the motion to approve the financial and treasurer report for December 2016 with a second by Mr. Schmitz. Mr. Cox-Yes, Mrs. Poe-Yes, Mr. Schmitz-Yes, Mrs. Snyder-Yes, Mrs. Stevenson-Yes. Absent: Mrs. Little, Mr. Siegfried. Motion carried.
This year N-C spent $977,106 in the education fund compared to $1,002,856 spent in the education fund last year. In the operation and maintenance fund, N-C spent $125,333 this year compared to last year the district had spent $334,701. The district spent $177,114 in the transportation fund compared to $150,584 last year. The district spent $1,279,553 this year compared to $1,488,141 last year at this time in those three funds for a difference of $208,588 less this year compared to last year.
The 31st of December completed 50% of the 2017 fiscal year. The district expended 38.6% of the education budget, 20.3% of the operations and maintenance budget, and 67.7% of the transportation budget.
Fund balances as of December 31, 2016: Education: $1,128,867, Operation and Maintenance: $466,372 Transportation: $188,389, and Working Cash: $144,087. The four Major Fund Balances: $1,927,715. Total Fund Balance for all funds: $2,946,369.
Fund balances as of December 31, 2015: Education: $1,063,869, Operation and Maintenance: $413,116 Transportation: $251,197 and Working Cash: $116,763. The four Major Fund Balances: $1,884,945. Total Fund Balance for all funds: $2,750,592.
The district has $42,770 more this year compare to last year in the four major funds. The district has $195,574 more this year compared to last year in total fund balance.
6.0 Recognition of the Members of the Audience
6.01 Public Comment There was no public comment.
7.0 Superintendent’s Report
7.01 Transportation Report Mr. Young informed the board that we had received the white activity bus. He will be going to Springfield next week to get the license plates.
8.0 Action Items
8.01 Consider the Approval of Donating Bus #8, which was Bid on at the January 2016 School Board Meeting, to the Nauvoo Fire Department. Mrs. Poe made the motion to donate bus #8 to the Nauvoo Fire Department for emergency exercises with a second by Mrs. Stevenson. This is the bus that was bid on at the January 2016 school board meeting but the transaction was never completed. Mr. Cox-Yes, Mrs. Poe-Yes, Mr. Schmitz-Yes, Mrs. Snyder-Yes, Mrs. Stevenson-Yes. Absent: Mrs. Little, Mr. Siegfried. Motion carried.
8.02 Consider the Approval for the Superintendent to Seek Bids for the Bread, Milk, Fuel, Mowing, Snow Removal, and Pesticide Management for the Fiscal Year 2018. Mr. Cox made the motion to approve the Superintendent to seek bids for the Bread, Milk, Fuel, Mowing, Snow Removal, and Pesticide Management for the Fiscal Year 2018 with a second by Mrs. Poe. Ayes-5, Nays-0. Absent: Mrs. Little, Mr. Siegfried. Motion carried.
