Quincy Public School District 172 Board of Education met Feb. 2.

Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:

Meeting Convened 

The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session February 2, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, located at 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.

Roll Call 

The meeting was called to order by President Ali, who directed the secretary to call the roll. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Ali, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following members were absent: Members McNay and Rose. Whereupon the President declared a quorum was present. 

Pledge of Allegiance 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Ali.

Questions and Comments 

President Ali opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.

Appointment of Secretary Pro Tem 

Superintendent Roy Webb was appointed secretary pro-tem by President Ali.

Approve Agreement with Quincy Federation of Teachers and Educational Support Personnel It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Nichols to approve the Agreement with Quincy Federation of Teachers and Educational Support Personnel Local 809 (Doc. Reg. No.2914). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Bailey, Nichols, and Troup; and the following members were absent: Members McNay and Rose; and the following member abstained: Member Whitfield. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Approve Salaries for Non-Union Personnel for 2016-2017 It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Nichols to approve salaries for non-union personnel for 2016-2017 (Doc. Reg. No. 2915). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Bailey, Nichols, Troup; and Whitfield; and the following members were absent: Members McNay and Rose. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Executive Session It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Bailey that the Board suspend the rules and go into executive session to discuss: i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Bailey, Nichols, Troup; and Whitfield; and the following members were absent: Members McNay and Rose. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
