Quincy City Council met Aug. 21.

Here is the agenda provided by the Council:

PETITIONS

Ward 7

By The Crossing 929, 801 Monroe, requesting permission to block off Monroe St., 9th to 10th, from noon to 9:30 p.m. on October 31st for a community block party. Barricades needed.

By the Early Tin Dusters requesting permission to hold a raffle and have the bond requirement waived from October 13th. The City Clerk recommends approval of the permit.

By the Disabled American Veterans of Quincy, IL requesting to hold a “Forget-Me-Not” Fund Drive on September 9th through the 15th at various locations in Quincy.

PROCLAMATION

August 26th as “Women’s Equality Day”

MAYOR’S APPOINTMENTS

Gerald Holzgrafe to the Sister City Commission Re-appointment of Susan Scholz to the Human Rights Commission for a three year term

RESOLUTIONS

Utilities and Engineering Director, Utilities Committee and Finance Committee recommending approval to sign the necessary Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Public Water Pollution Control Loan Program documents. (Low interest loan for the replacement of equipment to maintain compliance with the IEPA standards.)

(Low interest loan for the replacement of equipment to maintain compliance with the IEPA standards.)

Central Services Director and Central Services Committee recommending approval of the estimate from Drake-Scruggs Equipment from Springfield, Illinois in the amount of $4,000-$4,500 to replace two boom hoses and cover on Truck #43.

Resolution to authorize the Comptroller to issue payments for the IML Annual Conference as follows: $4,680 to the Illinois Municipal League for conference fees, $11,629.64 to the Chicago Hilton, $100 travel stipend to each of the thirteen city employees/elected officials attending the conference, and also to reimburse the city department heads/elected officials attending the conference for meals not covered by conference fees based on city’s travel policy.

First presentation of an ordinance entitled:

An Ordinance Vacating An Alley. (East-West alley at 11th Street, located between Hampshire and Vermont and North-South alley at Hampshire St. extending North towards Vermont St. between 11th Street extending East towards 12th and 12th Streets.)
