The calls in Taylorville included 72 fires - 28 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 37 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $1,230,600 in fire loss - or about $17,092 per fire.
The department also received 100 false calls.
One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.
The Taylorville Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 17 active employees and 12 retired or inactive employees, was $449,297 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $6,240 for every fire in 2016.
