For the past three years, the family of Marilyn Joyce Lock has sponsored a Christmas Lighting Contest in her honor for the city of Macomb.
Before she died in 2015, Marilyn and her husband, Paul, made it a priority to share their love of Christmas to everyone in Macomb.
Macomb Mayor Mike Inman announced the winners of the 2017 contest earlier this week and awarded the top three with a total of $225 in Chamber of Commerce gift certificates, a posting on the city's website said. Curtis and Christine Farr were awarded first place honors while second place went to Scott and Christine Edwards and George and Ruth Ann Hartmann received third place honors.
The Lock family also recognized Tom and Donna Quick as the grand prize winners, and they received $250 in Chamber of Commerce gift certificates for their effort.
Receiving honorable mentions were Monte and Gina Colley for their electronic Christmas lighting display and Grand Prairie Assisted Living’s display garnered an honorable mention in the business category.
