City of Hamilton City Council met Feb. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The Hamilton City Council met in regular session at 7:00pm with Mayor Walter Sellens, Aldermen Bob Eddings, Dave Bierbaum, Bill Johnson, Beverly Boone, Steve Schlatter, and Debbie Summers answering roll call.

Mayor Sellens led everyone in the “Pledge of Allegiance”.

Sellens asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the February 5, 2018 meeting. Bierbaum made a motion to approve the minutes. Johnson seconded the motion. Roll was called with Eddings, Bierbaum, Johnson, Boone, Schlatter and Summers voting aye. Motion carried with 6 aye votes and no nay votes.

Sellens asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the Special Council Meeting on February 12, 2018. Bierbaum made a motion to approve the minutes. Eddings seconded the motion. Roll was called with Bierbaum, Johnson, Boone, Schlatter, Summers and Eddings voting aye. Motion carried with 6 aye votes and no nay votes.

Sellens reported that Mayor Nightingale had brought in a petition to Help Save WCAZ. It was available for the community to sign at City Hall. He will pick it back up when they are ready to take it to Washington.

Mayor Sellens noted that everyone had received a copy of the proposed Estimate for the 2nd TIF District. He encouraged everyone one to review and will discuss more at a future meeting.

FINANCE & APPROPRIATIONS

Eddings reported that the City had received the following deposits:

February 5$ 4,192.97Circuit Clerk Fines

Eddings made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Summers seconded the motion. Roll was called with Johnson, Boone, Schlatter, Summers, Eddings, and Bierbaum voting aye. Motion carried with 6 aye votes and no nay votes.

PUBLIC WORKS & BUILDNGS

STREET

Bierbaum reported the Public Works and Buildings Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 27th at 6:30pm.

Bierbaum made a motion to approve Ferrell Tree Service’s bid for $425.00 to remove 2 trees on High Street. Johnson seconded the motion. Roll was called with Boone, Schlatter, Summers, Eddings, Bierbaum and Johnson voting aye. Motion carried with 6 aye votes and no nay votes.

Sellens noted that Ryan had been working on getting the Easements for the Woodland Drive culvert project. Bids were open and Myers Driveway was the low bid and we should be ready to award the bid at the next council meeting.

WATER/SEWER

Schlatter reported that Becky Summers brought a bid and samples by the house for drapes at the Community Center. He will bring them to the Committee meeting next week.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS

Johnson had nothing new to report at this time.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Summers reported that the Health & Safety Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, January 27th at 5:30pm.

Stan reported that Whitaker and Egly properties have been dismissed. He noted that Jeffrey property has been continued until May 1. He noted that he is also dealing with Public Aid on a $19,000 lien on Jeffrey and $56,000 lien on Worrell. Tucker also noted that he is working on the Weiprecht house on Main Street.

There being no further business to discuss, Johnson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:15pm. Bierbaum seconded the motion. Roll was called with Schlatter, Summers, Eddings, Bierbaum Johnson and Boone voting aye. Motion carried with 6 aye votes and no nay votes.
