City of Waverly City Council met March 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The City Council of the City of Waverly, Illinois met in regular session on February 06, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers. City Clerk Jeff Jones was present. Treasurer Dave Copelin present.

Roll Call

Mayor Scott Duewer called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by Council members: Shirley Aleguas, Jeff Baines, Joe Nagel and Terry Campbell.

Comments From The Floor

Randy Shine requested something in writing regarding ditch maintenance for his property on Hwy 104.

Picnic Committee is asking for help for this year’s Picnic

Minutes

Motion by Alderwoman Aleguas Second by Alderman Baines to approve the meeting minutes from the January 02, 2018 meeting. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel and Mayor Duewer. NAYS: None.

Reports

Motion by Alderman Nagel Second by Alderwoman Aleguas to approve the reports of the clerk, collector, bookkeeper, and treasurer. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel and Mayor Duewer. NAYS: None.

Bills

Motion by Alderman Nagel, Second by Alderman Baines to pay the January bills due in February. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel and Mayor Duewer. NAYS: None.

Municipal

Streets And Alley

Motion by Alderman Nagel, Second by Alderman Campbell to Approve MFT Expenditures Supplemental Resolution for an additional $1000.00. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel and Mayor Duewer. NAYS: None.

Steve’s monthly report was reviewed.

Finance

Parks, Lakes, And Recreation

Motion by Alderman Nagel, Second by Alderman Campbell to purchase a solar light for boat ramp.

Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel and Mayor Duewer. NAYS: None.

Police

Discussion regarding Grant another police vehicle had a Special Meeting fifteen minutes before Council Meeting.

Chief Bettis’ monthly police report was discussed.

Utilities

Discussion and Possible Action for Home Owner Deposits for Service was Approved. Motion by Alderman Campbell Seconded by Alderman Nagel to amend home owners deposit ordinance. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel and Mayor Duewer. NAYS: None.

Discussion and Possible Action about raising Sewer rates will be discussed in the March meeting.
