Report: Virginia spent $11,412 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Virginia Community Unit School District 64 is up 1 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cass County school district spent $11,252 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,412 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 327 to 294.

Virginia's spending in 2016-17 was 12 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
