Report: West Prairie spent $10,784 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at West Prairie Community Unit School District 103 is up 5 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mcdonough County school district spent $10,256 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,784 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 656 to 623.

West Prairie's spending in 2016-17 was 17 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
