Passavant Hospital issued the following announcement on May 17.
Five hundred youngsters put their coloring skills to work during the third annual Duck Race for Lifeline coloring contest.
The contest is held in conjunction with the 24th annual Duck Race for Lifeline set for this Sunday, May 20, at Nichols Park in Jacksonville.
First, second, third and honorable mentions awards were given to winners in the pre-school, kindergarten and first grade divisions. Awards were based on creativity, originality, artistic style and developmental ability. Prizes included a ribbon, plus $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third. Honorable mention winners earned a ribbon, duck umbrella and Lifeline rubber duck.
All entries will be on display at the Duck Race. Prizes may be picked up from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Every child in attendance at the Duck Race for Lifeline receives a rubber duck, regardless of coloring contest entry.
The Duck Race begins at 2 p.m. Duck tickets are $5 each and will be available up until race time. First prize in the Duck Race is $1,000, with additional prizes for second through 10th places. Proceeds from the Duck Race support the Lifeline Program at Passavant in their mission to improve the health of the people and communities they serve.
