McDonough County Finance Committee met May 9.

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Committee members present were Chairman Alice Henry, Clarke Kelso, George Dixon, Trevor Toland, Larry Aurelio, and Travis Hiel. Others in attendance included Keith Krohe, Randy Pickering, County Chairman Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chairman Henry called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Review & Approval of April 11, 2018 Minutes:
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the minutes of April 11, 2018 as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
MCPT Report Review & Approval:
The monthly request for April 2018 from McDonough County Public Transportation was reviewed. Member Toland moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the April 2018 MCPT report in the amount of $1,501.50. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval:
The monthly report for April 2018 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals in Bushnell was reviewed. Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the April 2018 YMCA report in the amount of $824.63. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Coroner Report:
The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.
Monthly Financial Reports:
The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed. The County General Fund is better, the balance is $389,962.25.
Transfer of Funds:
No transfers needed.
Approval of Claims:
Member Kelso moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Warrants Issued in Vacation:
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Kelso to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Joseph E. Meyer & Assoc. Professional Service Agreement Resolution:
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Kelso to approve the Joseph E. Meyer & Assoc. Professional Service Agreement Resolution. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Joseph E. Meyer & Assoc. Addendum to Professional Service Agreement:
Member Toland moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the Joseph E. Meyer & Assoc. Addendum to Professional Service Agreement. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Insurance Review:
Keith Krohe gave an overview of the County Health Insurance Plan. The total plans fixed cost this year will be $206,278.00, and the cost for the first 5 months of the year is $1,100,245.00. Krohe is checking on what our insurance will pay for an ambulance ride, and for air evacuation.
Executive Session:
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Kelso to go into executive session at 6:28 p.m. Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Toland to exit executive session at 6:59 p.m.
IT Support with MTC:
Member Kelso moved with a second by Member Toland to approve using MTC for IT support. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Eliminate Network Administrator Position:
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Kelso to approve the elimination of the Network Administrator Position to provide cost savings. Network Administrator will be compensated regular rate of pay until May 31, 2018 and health insurance will continue through the end of May 2018. All benefits will be paid out on May 15, 2018. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other:
Chairman Henry said that Prairie Hills Resource Conservation and Development received a grant for $600,000.00 to locate Brown Fields. Comptroller Susan Mendoza said that there is money for indigent burial, and the state has money for expert witnesses. The 136 bypass is set to possibly open on June 1st.
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Hiel that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
