Carrollton Fire Protection District responded to 23 calls in 2017 - 15 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Carrollton included 23 fires - eight structure fires, three vehicle fires and 12 other fires.

In all, the department saw $13,500 in fire loss - or about $587 per fire.

The Carrollton Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $230,561 in 2017.
