The May meeting of the Beardstown Park District board of commissioners was held on May 23 at the Schewe Community Center. Becky Jones called to order and roll was taken.
Election of officers for the new fiscal year were as follows:
Travis Schroll was elected president after a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mr. Hardwick.
Travis Schroll then took over the meeting. Johnny Hardwick was elected vice-president on a motion by Mr. Kight and a second by Mrs. Jones.
The following appointments were made:
Secretary-Treasurer: Greta Unland
Financial Institutions: First National Bank, Beardstown Savings and West Central Bank
Auditor: Myers & Myers, CPA’s, Ltd.
Attorney: Wessel Law Office
Meeting days and time: 4th Wednesday of each month at 12:00 noon at the Schewe Community Center
The minutes of the May meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Schaefer a second by Mr. Hardwick.
The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mrs. Jones.
The claims list was approved on a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mr. Kight.
The budget for the new year was approved on a roll call vote after a motion by Mrs. Jones and a second by Mr. Kight.
Mr. Brockschmidt then presented the director’s report. He gave the board an update on the summer programs and the purchasing of 2 new vehicles for the park district. Discussed the pool and a tentative date set for unveiling of the wall on July 4th.
The meeting adjourned at 1:03 pm on a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mrs. Jones.
