Hamilton Community Consolidated School District 328 students suspended 44 times in a single school year

Hamilton Community Consolidated School District 328 reported 44 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 44 students during the year. That equates to 7.3 percent of the 600 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 18 incidents. There were one incidents of drugs. For 13 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 23 incidents. There were one incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For 17 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
