West Prairie Community Unit School District 103 students suspended 33 times in a single school year

West Prairie Community Unit School District 103 reported 33 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 33 students during the year. That equates to 5.3 percent of the 623 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 18 incidents. There were one incidents of drugs. For 16 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 12 incidents. There were two incidents of drugs. For six incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
