City of Pittsfield City Council met Oct. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois, was held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the City Council room at 215 North Monroe Street. The following officers were present: Mayor John Hayden, City Clerk Cindy Prentice, and Aldermen Kevin Ketchum, Ed Knight, Paul Lennon, Robert Ritchart, Robert Wilson, Kevin Wombles and Robert Wood.

Absent: Alderman Bill Scheiwe.

Mayor Hayden presided.

Alderman Ketchum moved to approve the minutes of the last regular Council meeting.

Alderman Knight seconded the motion.

Roll Call:Yea:Ketchum, Knight, Lennon,

Ritchart, Wood (5)

Nay:Wilson, Wombles (2)

The motion carried.

Alderman Wombles moved to approve the petition to open the east end of Pringle Street as requested by Greg Bores.

Alderman Wood seconded the motion.

Roll Call:Yea:Ketchum, Knight, Lennon, Ritchart,

Wilson, Wombles, Wood (7)

Nay:None (0)

The motion carried.

Alderman Ritchart moved to deny the sale of the property behind 303 North Monroe Street as requested by Linda Cherry. They City would like to retain the property.

Alderman Knight seconded the motion.

The motion carried.

Alderman Wood moved to purchase 150 pounds of trout for the fall trout season.

Alderman Lennon seconded the motion.

The motion carried.

Mayor Hayden said the closure of the new lake road will be tabled until the next regular Council meeting. Alderman Knight would like to discuss it at the Lake Board meeting tomorrow night. At the last regular Council meeting it was voted to close the road October 15. Since then it has been discussed waiting until Bill Conkling is done mowing at the lake. Street and Alley Foreman Jeff Griggs said he would like it closed at least by Halloween.

Alderman Wood set an Economic Development Committee meeting for Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. to discuss the McDonald’s Redevelopment Agreement and a Façade Loan.

Mayor Hayden reported there was a two-hour meeting with Jonas Petty today regarding the Higbee property where he presented more information on the project. Mr. Petty is also getting more information on the other property (on the corner of North Monroe and East Perry Street) for the Council.

Alderman Knight said the Lake Board will meet at the south campground tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. if anyone is interested in attending.

Alderman Ritchart moved to approve the Finance Committee Report and the Clerk be directed to issue the claims thereon.

Alderman Wood seconded the motion.

The motion carried.

Alderman Knight moved to adjourn this meeting at 6:12 p.m.
