Report: Virginia spent $11,910 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Virginia Community Unit School District 64 is up 6.9 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cass County school district spent $11,138 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,910 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 291 to 301.

Virginia's spending in 2017-18 was 10.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
