Report: Macomb spent $10,246 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Macomb Community Unit School District 185 is up 2.6 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mcdonough County school district spent $9,991 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,246 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1942 to 2076.

Macomb's spending in 2017-18 was 23.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
