The Western Illinois University Leathernecks women's golf team is set to compete in the Big O Classic, taking place from October 13 to 14 at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Nebraska. This tournament marks the third of four scheduled events for the team this season.

Two returning sophomores, Sophia Thorne and Cianna Law, are expected to play key roles. Thorne participated in all five events last season, with her top result being a tie for 34th place at the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Championships. Law also competed in all five events during the previous season.

The roster includes new additions this year. Junior Libby Larkin joins from Waterloo, Iowa, after qualifying for the NJCAA national championships while at Hawkeye Community College. Freshman Dina Khvastovich comes from Belarus, where she earned several titles, including the Women's Belarus Golf Open Cup, the Spring Open Cup, and the VII Minsk Golf Club Cup.

The Big O Classic will feature teams from Creighton, Omaha, Western Illinois, Indian Hills, Iowa Western, Stephen F. Austin, Northern Iowa, and Idaho State as well as Kansas. The first round is scheduled for Monday and the second round for Tuesday.
