Report: West Prairie spent $11,073 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at West Prairie Community Unit School District 103 is up 2.4 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mcdonough County school district spent $10,817 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,073 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 640 to 608.

West Prairie's spending in 2017-18 was 17 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
