The data shows that all of the released offenders in Rushville were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 50. The youngest parolee is a 27-year-old man sentenced for crimes against a person in 2013, and the oldest is a 76-year-old man sentenced for crimes against one or more children in 2006.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest is Dean Spetnagel. He was convicted of sex crimes in 1991 when he was 32 years old. He is now 60.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
