Beardstown Park District Board met April 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The April meeting of the Beardstown Park District board of commissioners was held at the Schewe Community Center. Travis Schroll called to order and roll was taken. Commissioners present included Travis Schroll, Becky Jones, Johnny Hardwick, and Bob Schaefer. Also in attendance were Park Director Jason Brockschmidt and Secretary-Treasurer Julie Robertson.

The minutes from the March meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Schaeffer and a second by Mrs, Jones.

The treasurefs report was approved on a motion by Mrs. Jones and a second by Mr. Hardwick. The claims list was approved after a motion by Mr. Schaeffer and a second by Mr. Hardwick.

Mr. Brockschmidt then presented the directors report. He said that the Park still hasn't received the IDNR grani and the loan for the new swimming pool will be extended until May 26th. He also said the tentative budget for the new fiscal year was posted on April 22nd and will be ready to be approved at the May board meeting.

He also told the board that the parks are all open with water on and the parking loventrance widening project is underway. Next he gave an update on the Tomado repair progress and let the board know that the summer programs are set and we received a $1000 grant from lllinois Association of Park Districts for the Power Play program.

The tentative budget for the 2019/2020 budget was presented to the board and approved with a motion by Mrs. Jones and a second from Mr. Schaeffer. lt was discussed that the Little League Association is asking if the Park District can provide paint for the bleachers at the boy's baseball field if they provide the labor to paint them. Concern was expressed that the Little League doesn't provide the park with revenue, yet we maintain the bathrooms and grounds around the field.

The meeting adjourned at 1:10 pm on a motion by Mrs. Jones and a second by Mr. Schaeffer.
