A former Western Illinois University (WIU) basketball player has sued the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden for child support, alleging he is the father of her 10-month-old son.
According to the Washington Examiner, Lunden Alexis Roberts, 28, names Hunter Biden, 49, in a paternity suit she recently filed in an Arkansas court, seeking both financial and health care support. Several media outlets have reported that the relationship between the two happened while Biden was already in a relationship with the widow of his brother, who died of brain cancer in 2015. The father of three, Biden recently married for the second time.
Biden also has a history of drug use and, according to the Washington Examiner, was dismissed from the Navy Reserve five years ago after testing positive for cocaine.
Roberts played at WIU as a freshmen during the 2009-10 season and is described on the school’s website by then coach Leslie Crane as “a great ball handler” who was “very savvy on the floor and has a lot of game experience.”
She averaged nearly 13 minutes and 3.2 points per game that season for the Fighting Leathernecks.
