The special meeting of the Carthage E.S.D. #317 Board of Education was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Board President Brent Ufkes.
Roll call: Andrea Jones/absent; Brandon Gooding/present; Trish Markley/absent; Amy Graham/present; Brent Ufkes/present; Robert Menn/present.
It was moved by Mrs. Graham and seconded by Mr. Menn to enter into executive session at 6:31 p.m. for the purpose of discussing selection of a person to fill a public office. Roll Call: Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Gooding/yes; Mrs. Markley/absent; Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Menn/yes. Motion carried 4-0.
It was moved by Mr. Menn and seconded by Mrs. Graham to exit executive session at 6:41 p.m. Roll Call: Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Gooding/yes; Mrs. Markley/absent; Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Menn/yes. Motion carried 4-0.
It was moved by Mrs. Graham and seconded by Mr. Menn to approve Luke Burling as new board member to fill the vacancy left by Ryan Blue, with the term ending April 21, 2021. Roll Call: Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Gooding/yes; Mrs. Markley/absent; Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Menn/yes. Motion carried 4-0.
It was moved by Mr. Ufkes and seconded by Mr. Gooding to adjourn the meeting at 6:42 p.m. Roll Call: Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Gooding/yes; Mrs. Markley/absent; Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Menn/yes. Motion carried 4-0.
