Jasper Community Consolidated School District 17 Board met Aug. 15.

The regular meeting of the Jasper School Board of Education was called to order by Board

President Derek Demaret and Beth Titzer taking the minutes, on August 15, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. with following board members present:

Board Members Present: Derek Demaret, Lachelle Thompson, Rennie Cates, Chris Barbre, Lance Hinkle, Andrew Weaver & Beth Titzer

Board Members Absent:

The consent agenda, which includes minutes of previous regular board meeting, executive session, bills and payrolls were then approved on a motion by Lachelle Thompson and seconded by Rennie Cates. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Chris Barbre to accept resignation of Jeff Gruner as individual aide. The votes were as follows:

Rennie Cates –yes Beth Titzer – yes

A motion was made by Rennie Cates and seconded by Lachelle Thompson to employ Jamie Cline as K-4 aide for 2019-2020 school year. The votes were as follows:

Rennie Cates –yes Beth Titzer – yes

Chris Barbre – yes

A motion was made by Chris Barbre and seconded by Rennie Cates to employ Emily Irwin as Brownsville individual aide for 2019-2020 school year. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Chris Barbre to approve bus barn roof repair by Isaac’s Roofing for $7,500.00. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Andrew Weaver and seconded by Lachelle Thompson to authorize superintendent to post bus driver position. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Chris Barbre to approve FY20 tentative budget and place on display for 30 days. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Andrew Weaver to approve salary adjustments to employees owed from FY18 & FY19. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Rennie Cates approve resolution to reduce time of support staff member(s). The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Rennie Cates to authorize payment to David Mills for unused vacation. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Rennie Cates and seconded by Chris Barbre to approve new non-certified hires at starting wage of $9.25 an hour and award existing non-certified staff a 3.5% salary increase for FY20. The votes were as follows:
