McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee met Aug. 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Third Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present included Chairman Trevor Toland, Vice Chair David Cortelyou, Dick Marcott, Rod McGrew, Scott Schwerer, and Marcia Twaddle. Committee Members Mike Cox and Tessa Pfafman were absent.

Other persons present included: Dave Cadwalader, Engineer Rick Walker, County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes, and Scott Hance.

Chairman Trevor Toland called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review & Approve July 11, 2019 Minutes

Member Schwerer moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve the July 11, 2019 minutes with correction. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Project Update

Engineer Rick Walker gave report.

Bushnell Township Bridge Update

Engineer Walker estimated repair at $120,900, the cost to replace is $387,500. Walker believes with the age of the bridge, it should be replaced.

July Work Report

Report given by Dave Cadwalader.

Claims

Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Business

Need to meet about Teamster Contract. Capital Power has about 1/3 of pads poured. Member Marcott expressed concerns about loose gravel on the corner prior to Argyle. Cadwalader will check to make sure there is a loose gravel sign. Marcott also has concerns about county Highway employees working without signage.

Adjourn

With no further business to discuss, Member Cortelyou moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Member Twaddle at 7:32 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
