McDonough County Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met July 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at The Elms. Committee members in attendance included Chairman Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Marcia Twaddle, Lee Calvert, Dave Cortelyou, Terra Litchfield, Bob Mahr, Paul Trimmer Deckle McLean. Others in attendance included Patrick Stout, Allen Sheffler, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.

Chairman Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approval of June 11, 2019 Minutes

Member Litchfield moved with second by Member Trimmer to approve the June 11, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Farm Report

No report.

Administrator’s Report

Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 80, with 6 being skilled, 28 private pay. Medicaid owes $484,649.57. In June there were 14 admissions and 13 discharges. Tim has been going over outstanding accounts payable. He also has been working on the computer programmers to get new software (Point, Click, Care) finished. Overview program will be ready in two weeks. Staffing Agency was cut back by $10,000 by the Elms staff.

Financial Report

Member Mahr moved with a second by Member Twaddle to approve the June 2019 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Elms Claims

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Twaddle to approve the Elm’s claims. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 0 absent.

Macomb Public Building Commission

Drain repair will begin July 22, 2019.

Zahrn Building

No report.

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

Allen Sheffler gave the Maintenance report. Yard cleaning was finished before Heritage Days. The Lactation Room, upstairs, is being worked on. Walls were cut down and drywall put up. Overhead door at the County Building is needing repaired, waiting on parts to fix it. Animal Shelter needed air conditioner work. Traffic is getting new length arms on ceiling fans. Member Litchfield asked about rugs in front of traffic and court security room, wondering if they can be fixed. Allen said that it will need to be looked at on how to fix the loose tiles.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the June Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other

County Board Chair Dixon wanted to remind everyone of the employee cookout and expressed to the board they are needing help with the event. Dixon then asked, “who is in charge of the Courthouse, the Sheriff?” Also does Building and Grounds Committee have anything to do with the Courthouse and do they need to go to the Sheriff first? Aurelio stated the Building and Grounds Committee should always talk with the Sheriff. Aurelio will meet with Sheriff to try to stop confusing the line between the committee and Sheriff.

Member Calvert moved and Member Mahr with a second to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m.
