Mcdonough County Road and Bridge Committee met Sept. 5.

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Third Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present included Chairman Trevor Toland, Vice Chair David Cortelyou, Dick Marcott, Rod McGrew, Scott Schwerer, Mike Cox and Marcia Twaddle. Committee Member Tessa Pfafman was absent.
Other persons present included: Engineer Rick Walker, County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes, and Scott Hance.
Chairman Trevor Toland called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Also thanked Rick Walker for the Wind Farm Tour.
Review & Approve August 1, 2019 Minutes
Member Marcott moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve the August 1, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Project Update
Engineer Rick Walker gave report. Section 18-00109-00-BR, Sugar Creek, cost is about $1.45 million. Section 18-00300- 00-BR, Pony Truss, still looking at a cost of $500,000, no problems with those and hopefully by next year they will be under way. Federal Project, bridge on Highway 26, just replacing the deck drains and painting, smaller project for June of next year. Payment Preservation projects, 18 and 19 are completed, spent close to $1.5 million on those projects. Member Marcott discussed the raise in State Weight Limit. Walker told the committee the County would probably follow suit.

Member Cox moved to approve County Aid to Bridge Certifications for Project #1954-40, Member Twaddle with a second. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Member Cox moved to approve County Aid to Bridge Certifications for Project #1152-47, Member Twaddle with a second. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Member Cox moved to approve County Aid to Bridge Certifications for Project #1952-56, Member Twaddle with a second. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution for Lamoine Towship County Aid Project #1953-25 $17,000-N150-E550
Member Twaddle moved to Approve Resolution for Lamoine Township County Aid Project #1953-25 $17,000-N150- E550, with a second by Member Cortelyou. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution Section 19-03116-00
Member Cortelyou moved to approve Resolution Section 19-03116-00, with a second by Member McGrew. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Teamster Contract
Chair Dixon, Member Schwerer and Road and Bridge Chair Toland met with Engineer Walker and will meet again in November to discuss Teamster Contract.
Drug and Alcohol Policy Revision Needed for Cannabis
Need to address.
August Work Report
Report given by Engineer Walker.
Claims
Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other Business
Member Marcott has talked with several Road Commissioners and questioned Engineer Walker on procedure.

With no further business to discuss, Member Cortelyou moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Member McGrew at 7:40 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
