City of Bushnell City Council met Dec. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Roll Call

Mayor Wilt recognized Officer Justin Hood with an outstanding citizenship award, for his actions involving a 911 call to Bill & Erica Barton’s house. Bill & Erica’s daughter Eden was having an extremely hard time and Officer Hood came in and called for life flight. Eden’s parents said this action saved her life. Mayor Wilt presented Officer Hood with a Certificate of Appreciation for his Community Service

Treasurer

*Treasurer Dan Cortelyou stated that there would be a 1.6% increase in the tax levy.

This will be voted on at the next meeting.

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda, which included the following items:

1. Approval of Minutes from November 18, 2019

2. Approved October Financial report

3. Accept and pay November bills.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt stated that we were in need of outside lights for the Christmas tree up town.

If anyone has any they would like to donate it would be much appreciated.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

Ald. Norton made a motion to stay with our existing health insurance company with a 12.3 % increase.

Ald. Lorton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Public Works-Street/Sewer/Alley

*Attorney Laegeler stated that the bid notice for the Donny Brush property would Be ready by the next meeting.

*Next meeting will be December 12 at 3:00 to discuss the sidewalk between Ludlum’s and Dollar General.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Chief Fosydck stated that they had offered Nathan Barker a job earlier in the year and He had declined. Now he has left that job and would like the job. This will be discussed in Executive session.

*Next meeting will be December 9, 2019 at 4:00.

*ESDA director Jeff Rench stated that he had given Everbridge 5 names to be administrators of That project. Everbridge will be setting up some training for those individuals.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Coates stated they still need a Santa Claus for the light parade on December 7 th. Contracts

*Ald. Glisan stated that bids for garbage contracts were due by the 17 th of this month.

*There will be a meeting December 18, 2019 to discuss those bids.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*Attorney Laegeler stated that he was waiting on IML on some language to put into the new cannabis ordinance.

*Laegeler stated there had been no movement on the Patty Sullivan property.

Ald. Norton made a motion at 5:50 to enter into executive session to discuss a)Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of an employee of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, pursuant to Sec.2(c)(1)of the Open Meeting Act. b) Collective Bargaining matters between the public body and its employees, pursuant to Sec. 2(c) (2) of the open Meetings Act. Ald. Lorton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the clerical IBEW union contract. Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:
