City of Barry City Council met Dec. 2.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Rennecker called the regular meeting of the Barry City Council to order at 7 p.m. He then led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance. All elected officials were present.
Lance Kendrick made motion to approve the minutes from the November meeting and Steve Schultz seconded the motion. Motion carried with 6 ayes, 0 nays and 0 absent.
Steve Schultz made a motion to approve payment of the bills and Scott Harris seconded the motion. Motion carried with 6 ayes, 0 nays and 0 absent.
Officer Lowry from Pike County Sheriff’s department gave the police report. He stated there were two arrests – 1traffic and 1for meth and a warrant.
Jeff Hogge gave the City Administrator report. Jeff said on November 11 the water tower was inspected and will have to be flushed out next year. He attended the TIF review board meeting and got MFT warrants and documents together for 2020 MFT. Also talked to Adams about security for the computers and got quote for two new computers – one for Nancy and 1 for Kristy. Total quote for anti virus and computers was $2546.03. Bob Dieker made a motion to approve the purchase and Marynel Corton seconded the motion. Motion carried with 6 ayes, 0 nays and 0 absent to go ahead and purchase.
Robert Snyder gave the public works director report. Robert said it had been a busy month with storms and meter reading. He said they need a new battery for the lift station.
Nick Doellman from ABNG accountants presented the audit report.
Mayor Rennecker discussed the MFT Resolution with Council about engineering agreement of $1840 and oil and chip seal for $24,500 - $29,500. Steve Schultz made motion to approve the resolution and Bob Dieker seconded the motion. Roll call taken:

Mayor Rennecker discussed with council and said that Illinois Electric Cooperative will be installing a dusk to dawn light at 310th St to help light the turnoff. He said the turnoff at Shover Drive is also difficult to see and that a streetlight at that location would cost the City $12.50 month. Bob Dieker made a motion to approve the light at Shover Drive and Steve Schultz seconded the motion. Motion carried with 6 ayes, 0 nays and 0 absent.
