City of Barry issued the following announcement on April 29.
The US Census Bureau recently extended key deadlines due to hurdles posed by the public health crisis. This provides companies with more time to encourage employees and customers to complete their census questionnaires in the comfort of their own homes - without ever meeting a census taker. When more people self-respond, census data is more accurate and data collection operations are more cost-effective.
New important deadlines include:
· October 31: Final deadline to complete a census questionnaire. Original deadline was July 31.
· August 11: The Census Bureau plans to start door-knocking operations, when census takers visit the homes of those who have not self-responded. It is important to encourage residents to complete their census questionnaires before this period.
