Analysis: Jacksonville pays $4.53 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Jacksonville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.9 percent of the $1,460,379 the Jacksonville Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.53 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Jacksonville contributed $1,196,319 to the fund, which saw a $52,112 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $264,059, or 18.1 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
