Analysis: Beardstown pays $5.97 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Beardstown Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.7 percent of the $168,925 the Beardstown Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.97 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Beardstown contributed $144,702 to the fund, which saw a $5,853 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $24,222, or 14.3 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
