Winchester Volunteer Fire Department responded to 25 calls in 2018 - 78.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Winchester included 22 fires - 10 structure fires, five vehicle fires and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $249,600 in fire loss - or about $11,345 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.
