Rushville Fire District responded to 41 calls in 2018 - 105 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Rushville included 34 fires - nine structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 17 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $30,000 in fire loss - or about $882 per fire.

The department also received six false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death and one civilian non-fire death.
