Pittsfield City FD responds to 37 fires in 2018

Pittsfield City Fire District responded to 44 calls in 2018 - 4.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Pittsfield City included 37 fires - 18 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 14 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $838,250 in fire loss - or about $22,655 per fire.

The department also received six false calls, including one malicious call and five other false calls.
