Symptoms of COVID-19 can vary, they can be mild or severe depending on the person and their health conditions. If you are experiencing symptoms, stay home, and contact your healthcare provider or the illness clinic at 217-357-0617 to determine if you should get tested. Anyone who gets tested must quarantine until test results come back. Some people who have been exposed to COVID-19 may not show symptoms or if they do it may take anywhere from 2 to 14 days for symptoms to appear.
COVID-19 cases continue to increase everywhere. Many of us know someone who has had COVID-19. Some of us may have even been one of the victims of this illness. Many of us know of people who have been able to recover easily from COVID-19 with very mild symptoms or no symptoms at all. Some of us also know of people who experienced moderate to more severe symptoms which made it harder to recover from this virus. Lastly, some of us even know someone who has sadly passed as a result of complications from COVID-19. If each of us, young and old, make it a priority to practice simple everyday tips, such as staying home when ill, washing hands often, and cleaning and disinfecting highly touched surfaces we can make a difference in reducing the number of cases. Additionally, people should wear a face covering when 6 ft. distancing cannot be maintained. Furthermore, if you have been asked to be in isolation or quarantine by a public health employee it’s very important that you follow their instructions. Failure to follow isolation or quarantine guidance or not providing complete and thorough information can cause additional COVID-19 cases. We are all in this together!
