City of Waverly City Council Met Dec. 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Waverly, Illinois met at 7:00 P.M. via Zoom meeting. City Clerk Jeff Jones was present. Treasurer Maresa McDannald was present.

ROLL CALL

Mayor Scott Duewer called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by Council members: Jeff Baines, Terry Campbell, Joe Nagel, Matt Cleveland and Evan Durako. Shane Gray not present.

COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR

None.

MINUTES

Motion by Alderman Nagel Second by Alderman Campbell to approve the meeting minutes from the November 03, 2020 meeting. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

REPORTS

Motion by Alderman Durako Second by Alderman Campbell to approve the reports of the Clerk, Collector, Bookkeeper, and Treasurer. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

BILLS

Motion by Alderman Cleveland Second by Alderman Durako to pay the November bills due in December. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

MUNICIPAL

Motion by Alderman Campbell Second by Alderman Durako to approve annual raise for Sharon Wisdom. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

Motion by Alderman Cleveland Second by Alderman Campbell to have Christmas bonuses: $300 for full time and $100 for part time. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

Motion by Alderman Campbell Second by Alderman Baines to reinstate sick days used for Covid-19 and pay. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

FINANCE

None

PARKS, LAKES, AND RECREATION

None.

POLICE

Chief Johnson’s monthly police report was reviewed.

STREETS AND ALLEYS

Motion by Alderman Durako Second by Alderman Campbell to approve change order #1 on Sewer Lining Project.

Motion by Alderman Durako Second by Alderman Campbell for new gas valves where needed in the City and purchasing Gas Utility Mapping Software. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

Community Development

Discussion to put up the Christmas Decorations and replace broken decorations where needed-Done.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion by Alderman Durako Second by Alderman Campbell for preliminary design work at Water Plant to be handled by Benton & Associates. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

OLD BUSINESS

Motion by Alderman Cleveland Second by Alderman Baines to approve 50% coverage for Spouse and dependents for health, dental and vision. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

ADJOURN

Motion by Alderman Durako Second by Alderman Nagel to adjourn the meeting. Motion was approved by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Baines, Campbell, Nagel, Cleveland, and Durako. Nays: None.

Mayor Duewer adjourned the meeting at 8:19 P.M.
