City of Jacksonville Commission on Disabilities and Human Relations Met April 8.

Present: Mary Watts (Chairman), Guy Crumley, Eddie Lowe (Secretary), Ruth Linear, Nancy Harper

1. WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER 4:05 PM

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion: To approve the minutes of February, 2021

Motion by: Ruth

Seconded by: Mary

Carried: Unanimous

3. NEW BUSINESS

• Alan’s resignation

Due to committing more time to the Critical Incident Team with the Jacksonville Police Department Alan can no longer serve on the Commission.

Motion: To accept the resignation of Alan Bradish

Motion by: Mary

Seconded by: Guy

Carried: Unanimous

• Mary’s appointment as Chairperson

Motion: To accept the appointment of Mary Watts as Chairperson

Motion by: Guy

Seconded by: Eddie

Carried: Unanimous

4. HUMAN RELATIONS ISSUES

• TEOSA has closed. The shelter served 30 individuals this winter season. New Directions at Grace United Methodist Church will continue to provide services to homeless in the community.

5. MISCELLANEOUS

• Discussed moving the monthly JCDHR meetings to 4:15 pm to accommodate work schedules of members.

Mary will verify availability of meeting space with the Mayor’s Office.
