The administrative cost hearing of the Carthage E.S.D. #317 Board of Education was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Board President Brent Ufkes.

Review of Administrative Costs presented by Mr. Day.
There were no individuals present wishing to address the board regarding administrative costs.

Recognition and presentations: Russ Rumbold presented the FY21 audit report. Recognition of individuals wishing to speak on stated agenda items: none Administrative Reports – Mr. Day reviewed his report.
Mrs. Jacoby reviewed her report and gave an update on translating devices that were purchased for the ELL students.
Mr. Scott was absent – supervising a ball game.
It was moved by Mrs. Graham and seconded by Mr. Menn to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll Call: Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Burling/absent; Mr. Menn/yes; Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Dickerson/yes; Mr. Gunning/yes. Motion carried 5-0.
Discussion – Tax Levy: Mr. Day will have a preliminary levy next month. Joint Annual Conference: Board members were updated on plans for conference.
It was moved by Mr. Menn and seconded by Mrs. Graham to approve the Resolution to Waive the Limitation of Administrative Costs for FY22 as authorized by Section 17-1.5 of the School Code. Roll Call: Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Burling/absent; Mr. Menn/yes; Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Dickerson/yes; Mr. Gunning/yes. Motion carried 5-0.
It was moved by Mr. Graham and seconded by Mr. Menn to declare the following items as surplus: (1) can rack from high school kitchen: (2) Power-Flite floor scrubbers: (48) Chromebooks: (4) laptops: (3) desktop computers. It was moved by Mr. Menn and seconded by Mr. Ufkes to enter into executive session at 8:26 p.m. for the purpose of discussing personnel and bargaining. It was moved by Mr. Menn and seconded by Mrs. Graham to employ Chelle Grotts as 5th and 6th grade boys’ basketball coach for the 2021-22 school year at the certified contract rate. It was moved by Mr. ufkes and seconded by Mr. Menn to accept the resignation of Patricia Friday as teacher, effective October 17, 2021. Roll Call: Mrs. Graham/yes; Mr. Ufkes/yes; Mr. Burling/absent; Mr. Menn/yes; Mrs. Jones/absent; Mr. Dickerson/yes; Mr. Gunning/yes. Motion carried 5-0.
