Report: Brown County School District spent $11,932 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Brown County Community Unit School District 1 was up 24.7 percent from five years ago, according to the West Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Brown County school district spent $9,565 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,932 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 763 to 735 students over the same period.

Brown County's spending in 2019-20 was 17.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
