Report: Macomb School District spent $12,432 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Macomb Community Unit School District 185 was up 35.3 percent from five years ago, according to the West Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mcdonough County school district spent $9,191 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,432 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,102 to 2,020 students over the same period.

Macomb's spending in 2019-20 was 14.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
