Falling home prices in Hamilton in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in Hamilton fell by $2,000 while total sales decreased by 12.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were 27 homes sold, with a median sale price of $76,000 - a 2.6% decrease over the $78,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 31 homes sold in Hamilton in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Hamilton for 2018 was $1,793. In 2017, the median sales tax was $1,658. This marks an increase of 8.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
