Report: Virginia School District spent $12,145 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Virginia Community Unit School District 64 was up 5.6 percent from five years ago, according to the West Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cass County school district spent $11,506 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,145 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 297 to 301 students over the same period.

Virginia's spending in 2019-20 was 16.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
